Christian Counseling
With over 20 years of experience, I have been trained in many theoretical approaches and research proven effective practices.
I use research supported approaches in order to provide quality care. Looking at your views and beliefs and finding solutions. Although there is usually a foundation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, the approach used is tailored depending on the presenting concern that you bring to therapy and the most appropriate way I feel will help you make progress.
Goals For Counseling
Goals for counseling are established collaboratively, but there are 3 main overarching themes:
Restoration: Getting back to doing things that you have enjoyed doing before but maybe have lost track of and learning new ways to communicate with loved ones or important people in your life about how you feel.
Authenticity: Being able to be or becoming more comfortable with your authentic sense of self (e.g. Being able to be true to yourself. Knowing how to identify how you feel and communicate that to those around you (instead of burying feelings deep inside/turning them inward against yourself or outward in anger)).
Reconnection to people that are important in your life and getting back to taking action steps toward hopes and dreams or creating goals for yourself.
